As an editor currently trialling Apple Fitness+ and loving it (seriously, I have nothing but praise for the platform and its convenient, inspiring and inclusive workouts), I’ve found I’ve come a long way since first picking up my dumbbells at home.
Feeling stronger and having more energy are just two side effects of the Apple Watch-only platform, and now, Apple has announced new workouts geared specifically for pregnancy, expanding upon its already huge collection of workouts for this important stage in a person’s life.
Users of the platform will be familiar with the effervescent Betina Gozo, whose infectious positivity and get-up-and-go attitude will see you push through even the toughest of sets. The new Workouts for Pregnancy will be led by Gozo, who is also a mum-to-be, as well as trainers and new mums Emily Fayette and Anja Garcia.
“Focused on helping women stay active during a healthy pregnancy and prepare for life with a new baby, the new Workouts for Pregnancy consist of 10 workouts across Strength, Core, and Mindful Cooldown,” Apple said in a release.
Each workout lasts for a quick 10 minutes — easily slotted into your busy day — and is designed to accommodate any stage of pregnancy across all fitness levels. And since each pregnancy feels different, with small discomforts for each expectant parent, the workouts can all be modified or made more comfortable with a pillow.
In the same announcement, Apple also introduced Workouts for Older Adults to help people stay active at any age with a focus on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and mobility. The company also introduced new trainers and new Yoga, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and Strength workouts for beginners.
