Aidan Is Going to Be In the Sex and the City Reboot So Maybe Carrie Can Finally Make the Right Choice
This is not a drill, people! John Corbett has confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Aidan Shaw in the much-anticipated Sex and the City reboot and we are just over the moon at this news.
As you’ll no doubt recall, we last saw Aidan in Sex and the City 2 — where we learned that he had three sons with country-themed names and a wife who had been keeping track of Carrie over the years.
We don’t know a whole lot about how Aidan will once more fit into the SATC plot, or how his relationship with Carrie might play out, but we sure are excited to find out.
Corbett told Page Six, “I’m going to do the show” adding, “I like all those people, they’ve been very nice to me.” Corbett told the publication that he is going to be in “quite a few” of the ten episodes that make up the limited series, referring to the opportunity as “exciting.”
Meanwhile, we still have no real idea if Chris Noth will come back as Mr Big, with everyone keeping that information fairly close to their chests.
It had previously circulated that Big had died in a version of the script for the third SATC film (which, of course, never went ahead) but Noth has since shut down those rumours saying, “He wasn’t going to die. There’s no way he was dying. That was all a lie.”
Sarah Jessica Parker, meanwhile has simply said that we will just have to wait and see.
Another cast member that we know we can look forward to seeing when And Just Like That… premieres in 2022, is the lovely David Eigenberg who plays Miranda’s husband Steve Brady.
Eigenberg told E! News’ Daily Pop that he had been contacted to appear in the HBO Max reboot and that he was “pretty sure” he was going to step back into the role.
Of course, we know that Kim Cattrall will not be coming back to play Samantha Jones due to her very, unfortunately, having fallen out with SJP and the gang, but there are still a few familiar faces we are waiting on confirmation from.
Charlotte’s hubby Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler) will hopefully make a couple of appearances over the ten episodes and we are absolutely crossing our fingers that Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone) and Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson) will be featured.
The reboot is also bound to introduce some new characters for us to fall in love with, and we can’t wait to see just who they might be.
