Congratulations to Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell, who are now proud parents of their very own little wildlife warrior.
The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl on March 25.
Taking to her Instagram, Irwin shared a sweet snap of their daughter, announcing her name with the caption: “March 25, 2021. Celebrating the two loves of my life. Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter. ❤️ Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light.
“Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s. Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad. There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”
Powell shared his own post – with the addition of a photo of Grace in what appears to be a smile – thanking their new bundle of joy for “gracing” the pair on their wedding anniversary.
Accompany the photographs, he wrote: “Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. After waiting for you to arrive for the last 9 months, finally meeting you has been the best moment of my life. You have a big life ahead of you and no matter what, you will be surrounded by a whole lot of love. Thank you for gracing your beautiful mother and me on our wedding anniversary, so excited to have you home❤️” So sweet!
On March 9, both Irwin and Powell shared photographs of the nursery that their newborn daughter would now call home.
In a sweet nod to Australia Zoo, the nursery features animals found in the family animal park including, of course, two crocodiles and their baby.
Before her birth, the couple referred to the new bub as “Baby Wildlife Warrior” to honour Irwin’s late father, Steve Irwin.
Back in January, Irwin and Powell recreated “a very special moment”, where Powell was shown kissing his wife’s growing bump. The photo paid tribute to a similar photograph of Steve and Bindi kissing Terri’s belly when she was pregnant with Robert.
The couple will raise their child on the Sunshine Coast, on the grounds of the popular zoo.
