The 4 Must Have Items for a Cute Summer Outfit
What Makes a Cute Summer Outfit?
It might seem easy enough, putting together a cute summer outfit! But, there are more to cute outfits than meets the eye. There are certain points to consider when putting your outfit together; I’ve shared 5 tips to look stylish everyday in a previous post. Make sure to read that post because the same style tips apply to every outfit you put together, in addition to cute summer outfits.
Those 5 style tips apply to outfits in general. In addition to those tips, I want to share 3 items that when combined will create a cute and stylish look for summer.
1. Cute Sunglasses
The first item is cute sunglasses. Easy enough, sunnies serve two great purposes, it protects your eyes from the glaring sun rays, and it makes you look oh so stylish. There is a reason why Anna Wintour is always wearing them, summer or not.
Get yourself a pair of cute sunnies to wear throughout summer. It can be a statement or classic styles, just find a pair that suits your face and you’ll want to wear with everything.
2. Fun Accessory
I love hats; hats are my go to accessory. Hats not only protect my face from the sun but it adds personality to an outfit.
There are a ton of styles of hats; there is something for everyone. Make sure to find a hat that matches a lot of outfits. For example; the hat I’m wearing in this outfit is my “go-to” hat. It always seems to work with any outfit I wear, and the brim is just the right width.
If you’re not the hat type, consider adding a bandana, or headband. Here’s a cute summer outfit example of how you can wear a bandana as a headband.
The hat and sunglasses add that extra bit to an outfit, these accessories take an outfit from simple and boring to cute and stylish.
3. Cute and Comfortable Shoes
Summer is all about ease and relaxation, and you want to give off those vibes with your cute summer outfit as well. I love to wear flats and wedges during summer. In this outfit, I’m wearing the uber cute flats from Tieks in blush.
I’m pretty sure you’ve seen Tieks in your Pinterest or Facebook feed. There is a good reason why they are so popular! The flats are so comfortable and it comes in almost every color you could want. And, they also have a lot of nice patterns.
You could also wear cute strappy sandals, cool slip ons, or slide sandals. Find a pair of shoes that you’ll want to wear every day of summer. Like the sunglasses and accessory, you want to get the most use out of these items.
As you can see from the outfits I share, I love maximizing the use out of every item of own. This is the reason I usually stay away from trendy pieces and stick to classic styles.
If you want to take your summer outfit from simple to cute make sure that you accessorize it with sunglasses, a hat, bandana, and a great pair of shoes!
The 360 Bridge Austin
While living in Austin, Texas (since December) we’ve had the opportunity to explore a lot of what this amazing city has to offer! There is so much to do here; there is never a dull day in Austin. From fun outdoor activities to delectable cuisine, it’s easy to see why people are flocking to live here by the hundreds from all over the states.
These photos were taken at the 360 Bridge also known as the Pennybacker Bridge. What makes this bridge so awesome, other than the style, is that none of the bridge touches the water so residents can still enjoy the lake! Also, when Percy V. Pennybacker Jr. designed the bridge and saw its completion in 1982, it was only the second bridge of its kind in the world!
To get to this overlook point you need to do a very short hike. You don’t have to wear full on hiking gear, as you can see from my outfit, the hike is not very strenuous.
Once at the top you’ll have an unobstructed view of the 360 bridge, downtown Austin in the distance, and a lot of greenery. I was truly surprised at how lush Austin was when we first arrived. Time sometime to admire the view and snap some pics!
The trail entrance is located in the center of the parking lot off the side of the Capital of Texas Highway on the right side if driving south. The parking lot is right before the bridge; you’ll usually see some cars parked there, so it’s easy to spot. Once parked head to the trailhead and make the quick 5-10 minute hike to the overlook. If you’re in Austin and what to visit the 360 Bridge or planning a visit to this great city here is a link to the map. Just copy the link and open it in your phone so it’s easy to get to.
The 360 Bridge overlook is one of my favorite spots in Austin in addition to the Mount Bonnell overlooks, which I’ll share a separate post about.
Stay Stylish,
