Why You Need a Faux Suede Skirt This Fall
The Cute Faux Suede Skirt
Faux suede skirts are very popular this year. It’s super cute, and I love the how it can be dressed up or down and worn with flats, booties or knee boots.
I bought this faux suede skirt at Nordstrom. It’s by Wayf, and was only $69. Since it’s faux, it’s not very expensive. If it were a real suede, it would probably be $100+. You need to decide if you want to invest in a real suede skirt or purchase a skirt that is more affordable by going with a faux suede skirt.
If you do decide to invest in a suede skirt, I would suggest looking for a skirt in brown, black or navy. Because it’s neutral, you’ll be able to wear it with many different outfits, and you never have to worry about it going out of style. The length of the skirt depends on your personal preference and what you usually feel comfortable wearing.
I like the faux suede skirt that I’m wearing in this outfit because it has buttons going down the front, creating a little more interest.
How to Wear a Skirt in the Fall
The perfect time to wear a skirt in the fall is at the beginning of the season because it’s usually warm enough. October is the perfect month to put together a cute fall outfit with a faux suede skirt. Since it’s not too hot or too cold, you can wear layers to not only add dimension to your outfit but still keep warm in the chilly mornings.
In this outfit, I wore a brown suede skirt with a plain white t-shirt, denim jacket, and black ankle booties. If you’re wondering what to wear with a skirt, the simplest and quickest combination you can put together is a t-shirt a short jacket of some sort. There are two options when wearing a jacket or cardigan over a suede skirt. It either needs to be short, like the one I’m wearing in this outfit, or it needs to be dramatically longer. If you do wear a long jacket or cardigan, make sure it goes past your skirt. I wore a long cardigan with this faux suede skirt. I’ll share that outfit soon!
Since it’s fall, I paired this super cute suede skirt with ankle booties instead of flats. The booties give this outfit character and a little bit of attitude.
There are a couple of important things to remember if you want to wear a skirt in the fall. Make sure the skirt is a fall looking skirt. By this I mean, wear a skirt that is made of a thicker material like suede, wool, corduroy or leather and buy it in a solid fall color or a print like plaid. Here’s a plaid skirt outfit I recently wore as an example. Skirts in the fall are supposed to look a little heavier than summer or spring skirts which are flowier and light.
