Best Instagram Looks of the Week: Dua Lipa, a Palm Tree, and a Cut-out Catsuit

Summer isn’t over until the last vacation pic is posted—that’s the rule. Lucky for you, hedonistic escapism was at an all-time high on our Instagram feeds this week, as celebrities strutted around European cities and Caribbean islands donning their best OOO outfits, 12 of which have consolidated their place in Editorialist’s Best Instagram Looks of the Week.

Striking a pose in a colorful Akira crochet two-piece and Chanel chain belt, Model Winnie Harlow gave us an island-girl moment, whereas singer Dua Lipa wore what any of us would wear while trying to scale a palm tree in Ibiza: a body-hugging jet-black catsuit. Lipa accessorized her cut-out catsuit with a glowing bare face, the type of which you can only get while soaking up the sun on vacation. But hot girl summer isn’t about gender, it’s a state of mind—just look at Dwayne Wade. The former basketball player accompanied his beau Gabrielle Union-Wade for a stroll around the coast of Positano, sporting a Keiser Clark knit two-piece that exuded an air of Italian sophistication.

As much as we try to fight it, though, the dark nights will soon be upon us—and with them comes glistening eveningwear made to sparkle on the dancefloor. Model Duckie Thot placed her disco-night bid this week, debuting a pink sparkling drop-neck dress which spoke of past noughties it-girls like Paris Hilton. Meanwhile, actress Elizabeth Gillies took us back to the ’70s in a gold lamé dress similar to Liza Minelli’s heyday uniform. To summarize: glamour is back.

Finally, there’s a new pose dominating our Instagram feeds, one that we’ve coined the “sultry sit-down stare.” From Rosie Huntington-Whitely to Bella Hadid, to Thandie Newton, this pose is characterized by its low and high angles, direct eye contact with the camera, and outfits worth showing off. But before you practice your pouts and casual posture, look at the best fashion Instagrams of the week for some celebrity inspiration—and stick around to shop their most inspiring pieces at the end.
