In some truly wonderful news, it seems that Cardi B is getting ready to launch her own beauty line and we couldn’t be more excited! According to TMZ, the’ WAP’ rapper’s company, called Washpoppin Inc., recently filed legal documents to secure the rights to the name ‘Bardi Beauty’.
The trademark documents reveal Cardi wants to create a number of personal care products under this name, including fragrances, haircare, skincare and nail polish — pretty much every product one might find in a beauty range.
This isn’t the first whiff of a beauty range we’re hearing from Cardi, with the rapper telling Entertainment Tonight in 2019 that she had plans to launch a beauty line “very” soon. Now that it seems she’s locked the name down, we might be treated to Cardi-designed products sooner rather than later.
Bardi Beauty isn’t Cardi’s first venture outside of music, with Cardi previously partnering with label Fashion Nova to create two clothing collections. In fact, according to TMZ, the 2019 release of the ‘Season 2’ collection saw the line nearly sell out in just 24 hours — earning Cardi B and Fashion Nova over US $1 million in that period of time.
Cardi also recently partnered with Reebok to create a ‘Cardi Collection’ —called Summertime Fine Collection — which includes a range of ’90s inspired apparel as well as matching footwear colourways of the Cardi B Club C. This collection is due to launch in Australia on April 24.
The eventual launch of Bardi Beauty means Cardi will be joining the likes of celebrities like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Selena Gomez, who all have successful beauty brands. We’re excited to see how Cardi brings her personal flair to this latest project and we’ll be waiting with bated breath for the launch — whenever that may be.
